The Tigers advanced to its third consecutive grand final after ending Learmonth's two-year long unbeaten run atop the league.
Springbank coach Garth Kydd told The Courier he believes the Lakies struggled to adjust to the Tigers all-court defensive pressure.
"I think for the first time in 42 straight wins they had to make changes during the game," he said.
"I've never really seen that with them, they usually stick to their guns and are able to push through."
Started by a tremendous first quarter where the Tigers allowed only five goals from the Lakies, Springbank led at every break of the game. Despite his side's consistent lead, Kydd said he was always weary of a Learmonth comeback.
"I don't think the girls or myself ever really thought the game was in the bag... we were still weary of what Learmonth could do because we have such respect for Jordan (O'Keefe) and his girls."
Ultimately coming away with a 42-35 victory, the Tigers will have to wait and see whether star centre Kelly Conroy will be able to play next week following a scary ankle injury in the second quarter.
On the other side of the finals fixture, Hepburn was able to outlast Buninyong in the wet on Sunday. Burras coach Gary Cooke called the conditions "awful" when speaking after the victory.
"It was just a mess, that Buninyong court is really slippery but everyone just had to adjust," he said.
Similarly to the Kydd, Cooke said he was never comfortable with his side's lead despite being in front for much of the game.
"It was nerve-racking... we kept pushing a few goals ahead before they'd get it back, we just couldn't get away and get the lead we wanted."
Cooke praised mid-court players Madi Carter and Kira Howard for controlling the contest in the 46-44 victory.
"They were giving off a calming effect... we made mistakes when we rushed, having them able to slow the play was huge."
