A large event and exam space will be contained within the building along with a commercial kitchen, uniform shop and the College Archives Centre.
"We are excited to announce that the college will soon embark on the next stage of the Master Plan in conjunction with Law Architects, with the construction of a new examination centre and gathering space, to be located on the convent site opposite the Mercy Administration Wing," said acting principal Chris Grant.
"This building is a strategic addition to the existing college facilities to support 21st century learning and to enhance curriculum delivery and student learning outcomes."
Mr Grant said the two-storey building, which has been designed to be sympathetic to the school's bush environment, would also be available for community use.
Construction is expected to begin in October and take 12 months.
"The Damascus College community is excited to see the continued development of the college facilities, so that all students and staff can be our best," Mr Grant said.
