Waubra has named tall utility Geordie Lukich to play in Saturday's Central Highlands Football League grand final, but Roos coach Matt James has forecast a late fitness test on game day.
Lukich missed the second half of Sunday's preliminary final against Gordon after aggravating a hamstring injury and is still in doubt to take his place against Hepburn at Mars Stadium.
Clever forward Jarred Crabtree is the sole inclusion into the selected team.
Crabtree has a soft tissue injury, but also might have struggled with the dark, wet and windy conditions on the weekend.
Blind in one eye and with only partial vision in the other, Crabtree often misses games due to poor weather.
He told The Courier on Thursday he was hopeful of getting up for the clash, but expected to be put through his paces by coaching staff on Saturday morning.
The player making way in the team that was submitted on Thursday night was Billy Douglass. He is one of three emergencies alongside Nick Moran and Glen Coleman.
Hepburn lodged an unchanged line-up to the one that beat Newlyn in last Saturday's preliminary final. The Burras don't appear to have any major injury issues with the 22 players that competed last weekend.
The fifth-placed Hepburn is looking to become the first side since the CHFL started a top eight finals system in 2011 to win the flag from outside the four.
Springbank made the grand final from sixth in 2014 but eventually fell to Bungaree.
The Burras have gathered momentum during their three finals appearances and were ultra impressive in last Saturday's victory over Newlyn.
"We played how we planned to do it," Hepburn coach Clive Raak said.
"We have been planning on how we need to play, what we have to do to beat Newlyn and we did that. That was probably the pleasing aspect."
Raak said the Burras had been unable to get their full team on the park for much of the season.
"We've always had that three or four missing, (but) we have got everyone back," he said.
"It's been a bit of a blessing that we finished fifth because it has given us an extra game together again. We haven't been together much during the year.
"The majority of the group haven't played much footy throughout the year. There has probably been eight to nine blokes that have played every game, but the rest of them it just falls away pretty quickly.
"Tommy Horne missed a lot of footy, Jack Fowler missed a lot of footy as well, Izaac Grant has been missing and Finn Anscombe. There has been some key players for us that haven't played much footy throughout the year."
While Hepburn last won the flag in 2017, Waubra fans haven't tasted the ultimate success since 2011.
James said the club's recent finals record had been spoken about this week.
"There is probably a lot of talk that maybe our finals record hasn't been that great over previous time, but we sort of spoke about it in my time and the group that (I'm) standing in front of," he said.
"And we've been really, really competitive and played really strong footy in all our finals probably barring that first final against Buninyong last year.
"So we are super excited and also confident in our brand and what we're able to bring in finals games.
James said to win in conditions on Sunday that were much different to those when the side beat Buninyong in the qualifying final showed a lot of growth from the Waubra group.
The Roos and Burras have met once this season, way back in round three. On that occasion, Waubra was successful by 10 points.
Dean Robertson and James Lukich were named best for the Roos in that April 13 clash, while Julian Lockwood and Andy McKay stood out for Hepburn.
Saturday's grand final will kick off at 2.45pm.
