The experienced leader is familiar with what it takes to win a game of netball in the region, having previously led the Burras to six consecutive grand final appearances between 2009 and 2014.
While he only won two of those six grand finals, Cooke says the winning culture he established at the club was great for the whole region.
Cooke left the club in 2015, seemingly taking the winning culture with him. The Burras struggled across the next three years, only making the finals once where they were quickly dispatched in the opening round.
Returning to his home club in 2018, Cooke returned Hepburn's winning ways, leading the Burras to a preliminary final before helping his side to a grand final appearance in 2019 on Saturday.
Having not won a premiership since 2011, Cooke is simply excited to have brought his club back into contention.
"I'm just so excited for the opportunity to showcase what this club is capable of," he said.
