It was an impressive weekend for Ballarat runners at the at the final individual XCR race of the season in Burnley.
Wendouree Athletics Club and attend St Patrick's College students Harry Sharpe and Archie Caldow with finished second at the weekend in the 5km event.
While all results are provisional until Wednesday, the second-place finishes will likely result in both athletes falling short of the XCR Athlete of the year title for their age categories (under 18 for Sharp and under 14 for Caldow).
Sharp's teammates Darcy Williams, Ben Ludbrook and James Hamm finished in third, fourth and fifth respectively.
In other results Georgia Mees finished second and Gracie Lee Egner finished 11th in the under 16 girls 5km while Isaac Rossato finished second and Ben Mornane finished fifth in the boys under 16 5km.
Sarah Watts was Ballarat's best performer in the open age women's half marathon, finishing 34th while Thomas Hynes finished 8th in the open aged men's race.
