Commonwealth Games javelin throwing champion Kathryn Mitchell will miss the world championships.
The Ballarat athlete declared herself unavailable for the meet in Qatar on September 27-October 6 owing to injury.
Mitchell had been aiming at her fourth world championships, having finished fifth on debut in 2013.
She produced a world championship qualifying throw early this year.
Kelsey-Lee Barber will represent Australia in the women's javelin.
Former Ballarat Clarendon College student and Eureka Athletic Club member Stewart McSweyn from Tasmania has been selected to represent Australia in the 1500m and 5000m.
