A new Ballarat production of a classic mistaken identity comedy is a laugh and a half.
Performances of William Shakespeare's shortest play 'The Comedy of Errors' will take place at the Helen Macpherson Smith Theatre in Camp Street until Sunday.
FedUni Arts Academy third year acting student Andrew Dang said that even the Bard's tragic plays have an "air of silliness" to them, but crafting the current play was a fun experience.
"Because of the Elizabethan language, a lot of people don't understand it, we need to put more effort into making the words and meaning understood, rather than just acting the character," he said.
Director James Pratt said Shakespeare was an essential part of an actor's "heritage".
"So much of it is about rhythm and timing ... that's what this show has been really good for," he said.
