The nominees for the award are Fraser Hunt (Buninyong), Brodie Lewis (Carngham Linton), Luke Saligari (Clunes), Will Henderson (Dunnstown), Ben Frazer (Gordon), Ned Johns (Hepburn), Hamish Crawley (Learmonth), Fraser Lowe (Newlyn) and Kieran Maher (Springbank).
The criteria for rookie nomination is the nominee must be a product of the club's juniors and have played at least one game for the senior club this season.
Past winners of the award have gone on to establish themselves as key players in the competition.
Hepburn Burras player Jordan Grant won the award in 2018.
