Committee for Ballarat and Leadership Ballarat Western Region are hosting a series of conversations with three inspiring yet diverse women to inspire listeners to make a positive difference in their communities.
Committee for Ballarat's Michael Poulton said the purpose of the talks was to develop leadership skills throughout Ballarat and the wider western region.
"[The talks] sit nicely on the back of the leadership program we have run for more than 10 years," he said.
"It is a more accessible forum for a range of community members to expand on and develop their leadership skills and understand the stories of leaders in the community."
The conversations are being hosted by former City of Ballarat councillor and community leader Judy Verlin, who interviewed philanthropist and well-known Ballarat identity Paula Nicholson last Wednesday.
Ms Nicholson is heavily involved in the health, arts and cultural sectors of the city.
The next two speakers will be Peta Searle - the first woman to be appointed to an AFL coaching position - and Carly Findlay, a writer, speaker and appearance activist.

Mr Poulton said the three speakers reflected different parts of the community but were all connected to the Committee for Ballarat's strong livability agenda.
He said Ms Nicholson had the connection through arts and culture, Ms Searle through sport and Ms Findlay through being an advocate for diversity and inclusion.
The tickets to the three conversations have been booked out, with attendees expected to gain two things: firstly, valuable insight into their own leadership development and secondly, a greater understanding of best practice in improving livability.
Mr Poulton said he was "really pleased" with the first session as Paula had a great story to tell not just about Ballarat, but about the wider western region.
The talk also focused on the inception, success and leadership challenges in growing the Ballarat International Foto Biennale, which he said was a fantastic arts event for the city.
