Jay Rantall has taken home the Greater Western Victoria Rebels' highest honour at the weekend, winning the Adam Goodes trophy as the team's best and fairest.

The 18-year-old draft hopeful from South Warrnambool had a tremendous year for the Rebels, averaging a touch under 25 disposals and over six tackles a game in his 12 outings.
GWV Rebels football manager Phil Partington praised the former basketball star for his work ethic and development within the program.
"He's had a terrific year playing 12 games in the NAB League in his first year in the program," he said.
"We're so proud of Jay... he's very coachable and determined, he's squeezed every drop out of the lemon to get the best out of himself."
Partington said Rantall has showcased his physical ability across the year and believes he has the potential to be on an AFL list next year.
"He's got some next level attributes, certainly his distance running and ball winning ability... they're just elite AFL traits."
