Wendouree defeated reigning premier Brown Hill by 12 goals in the opening round on Tuesday night.
Casey Johnstone produced an impressive shooting performance on debut for Wendouree - looking right at home especially in combination with captain Eleisha Phelps.
At the other end of the court, veteran defender Catherine Chibnall showed her class to get on top of the Brown Hill attack.
Wendouree set up the win with a seven-goal lead in the first half.
Johnstone said it had been a great first game considering many of the team had not previously played together.
She said they had been a bit rattled to start with, but had settled down by the end of the first quarter.
Johnstone said it had been a tough contest for all four quarters.
Dela Oscars came from behind to overwhelm Eureka in the final quarter and take the points by five goals.
Eureka led for most of the night thanks to Lauren Jew and Maddi Selmon, taking a three-goal lead into the last term.
Dela lifted though, with Cass Peace a telling factor mid-court in the last 15 minutes.
Shooter Lydia Jordan showed her poise under pressure to get Oscars home for the rersult they were looking for.

The Athlete's Foot Cup season will run for eight weeks, with the grand final on Tuesday, November 28.
