Webbcona will meet Victoria in a top-of-the-table clash on the Big V's carpet on Saturday.
The clubs are no strangers to each other having faced-off in the Geelong-Ballarat Premier Bowls league last season.
Webbcona player and team director Thomas Clarke said a win would be a good boost for the club.
"I thought in our first couple of games we had a chance to win both, put it that way," he said.
"Depending what surface we play on this weekend, they're going to be hard to beat, but we'll be competitive.
"They've got some good quality players with a lot of experience. They've been around a long time and they know the game."
The new competition is a big change of scenery for Webbcona which played in the abolished Geelong league for over 20 years.
Clarke said the new format, which consists of 12 players per side, had been a benefit to the club early in the season.
"Dropping from 16 players to 12 players this year allowed us to strengthen our side up straight away because it means your fringe players aren't playing premier league," he said.
Webbcona has been one of the most impressive sides in the league during the first fortnight of action, scoring easy victories over Mt Xavier and Creswick.
After losing three young players to Melbourne, Webbcona was boosted by the acquisition of skipper Tony Lange who has found form early on.
Clarke said he was impressed by the standard of the competition.
"I miss the Geelong-Premier personally but it's probably a good competition because I think after 20 years or so people have got a bit sick of travelling," he said.
"A lot of clubs in Geelong paid players or offered incentives to play for them, but we've never done this here, so we are proud of the success we've had."
