Virginia and Glenn Fraser have spent every weekend for the past 10 months remodelling the lower floor of the Ballaarat Club's 130-year-old building to create the Grand Majestic.
The new layout includes a bar and lounge, chapel, and a ballroom with a dizzyingly high ceiling.
Pages from a 1935 issue of The Courier, found beneath the floor, are framed at the bar.
While there have been several other ventures in the space over the years, Ms Fraser said this one feels right to her.
"I think when I open the door, I see what it always should have been," Ms Fraser said.
"The building speaks for itself."
"We just had to bring it back to life," Mr Fraser added.
"We've had a couple of weddings booked already."
The Grand Majestic will launch its website soon - as well as events, it's hoped the venue will soon open for casual Friday night drinks.
