But most people don't even realise how technology, and specifically our addiction to technology, is ruining our lives.
For all those aged ten years and over our average year is sucked into wasting time on electronic devices like phones, iPods, iPads or Tablets.
We spend our time on these devices watching YouTube, talking to friends using social media sites like Facebook and Snapchat, or playing games.
Even though it doesn't seem dangerous, our addiction to technology is actually ruining the way we think, look and feel about ourselves.
It can also have a detrimental impact to our mental, physical and emotional appearance, and to friendships online, and in real life.
Scientists have found that the average amount of time we spend on screen time is between three and a half hours to four and a half hours per day. Now that can't be good for our bodies, both physically and mentally.
A lot of people are up late at night on social media and some teenagers can be still up at 1am talking to their friends on their electronic devices. I think this is crazy!
To a parent or adult an advertisement on an electronic device may seem boring, however when teenagers see the same advertisement on their device it can hook them in on the product and make them feel like it is exactly what they need, even though it may only be a piece of junk.
Sadly, teenagers then use either their parents money if they don't have a job, or they spend their own money, wasting thousands of dollars.
This isn't good.
If we are always on our phones, we could become really lazy and lack the enthusiasm to do simple things like eating healthy and exercising.
Instead we inevitably sit inside addicted to our electronic devices and order unhealthy food to our front doorstep.
By being so inactive and addicted to technology this can cause a lot of diseases like obesity, some types of cancers, heart disease, high blood pressure and that's just to name a few of the many serious and some permanent functions that won't be able to recover as a result of the implications from a technology addiction.
Technology can also change the way we think.
Some people see things on social media and only see half of the story and start changing the way they look and think which can ruin their lives.
Teenagers can be easily tricked on social media which can lead to teenagers being placed in dangerous situations resulting in unforgettable things that should never happen to anyone.
Being tricked online could also lead to overdoses, addiction, homicide, suicide, loss of loved ones, physical abuse, criminal behaviour and many more negative impacts.
If teenagers post a lot of personal detail about themselves this can be extremely dangerous and a target for online predators.
Some people basically post everything that goes on in their life which makes it easy for a predator to harm you.
Another problem that the use of technology causes is cyberbullying.
When we post something on the internet, everyone can see the information and it opens us up to all the trolls, scammers and cyberbullies out there.
Cyberbullies often target one person and they can make that person's life really miserable - take it from a person who was bullied most of his primary school, by one certain person who shall remain nameless.
After reading this, you can see how one little thing of getting addicted to an electronic device can change your life permanently that could lead to death, exposing yourself to strangers and lead to cyberbullying, and much more terrible things that nobody should face, should live with or have to face alone.
So, if you see somebody staying up late on a screen or doing dangerous illegal things, see how they are going, help them get away from the addiction and turn their life around because everyone has something in their life which they are good at and by doing this or by finding something they're good at, could change them, the people around them and the world.
