The three week disruption will allow commissioning of new sections of track and signalling on the Ballarat line, which is undergoing a $500 million upgrade.
There will be no trains from Saturday, November 9.
The timetable, available online, includes express buses from Ballarat and Wendouree on weekday mornings, including a 5.35am direct service from Ballarat, arriving at Southern Cross station at 7.05am that will require a booking.
Ballarat commuters intending to be in the city before 9am on weekdays will need to take the 6.09am, 6.18am, or 6.45am buses from Wendouree, or the 6.09am, 6.22am, or 6.58am buses from Ballarat station.
From there, buses depart about every hour for Melbourne.
Peak hour trips from Southern Cross begin at 4pm, departing every half hour, with 5.10pm and 5.50pm express buses to Ballarat, scheduled to arrive at 6.45pm and 7.25pm respectively, and Wendouree.
Services are buses all the way through, with no changes required, however trains will still operate on the Maryborough and Ararat lines to and from Ballarat.
Trains are scheduled to resume on Monday, December 2, when the new Cobblebank train station near Melton will open.
