I totally agree that the speed limit should be 40km/h all the way around the lake.
Stick in speed humps as well to stop the hoons racing around there.
We also have to protect the swans.
As written in the article it could be a child next time.
Going slowly never hurt anyone.

I agree with 40km/h zones and speed humps around Lake Wendouree.
A few more signs for phone numbers for injured wildlife assistance too.
I do not agree with lights for around the lake walking track.
Having lights does not make people safer from anyone hiding in shadows.
Were the effects on wildlife even considered?
Diana Ferguson, Delacombe.
The speed limit around the lake needs to be 40km/h.
Speed humps need to be installed.
I have witnessed a family of wood ducks get hit by a car on Wendouree Parade.
Further to that, we need signs on the foreshore alerting bicyclists to slow down, stay left and use a bell to signify their presence.
Too many times speeding bicyclists have frightened birds, dogs and people.
Robert Thurman, Lake Wendouree.
