The Bunnies claimed the only first innings success of round four with Saturday's second day of play washed out across the first grade competition.
Buninyong skittled Ballarat-Redan for just 49 at Alfredton on October 26 and then made 120 before the end of the day to wrap up six points.
The two teams managed to get in seven overs of play on Saturday, but rain eventually had the last say and ended the game prematurely.
Liam Rigby took 7-16 on day one and claimed the wicket of English recruit Sam Burgess for a duck on Saturday to finish the game with eight scalps.
The Two Swords were 1-7 on Saturday when the clash ended with Ryan Aikman and Jayden Hayes the not out batsmen.
Buninyong climbed to eighth spot on the ladder following the round four result and is only three points outside the top four.
The other four Ballarat Cricket Association A-grade clashes failed to get underway on Saturday and all finished as draws.
Golden Point was 4-119 batting first in the battle with Brown Hill at the Eastern Oval, Mt Clear was 4-193 against Wendouree at CE Brown Reserve, while the fixtures between Napoleons-Sebastopol and Darley and also North Ballarat and East Ballarat never saw a ball bowled.
This means all of those sides share three points each.
Two-day games are also scheduled for round five.
Also on Saturday, all junior cricket in the under-15 and under-17 grades was cancelled due to rain.
