The league-wide initiative, which is being run in conjunction with the Ballarat Beard and Mustache Union, aims to raise $2000 for the Movember Foundation.

Banding together, teams have pledged to sell raffle tickets throughout the month which will be put towards a special raffle night at Linton Cricket Club on November 30.

Multiple prizes will be handed out, with international cricketer Aaron Finch agreeing to donate a signed shirt.

Founder of the initiative Tarquin Walsh said the support had been overwhelming.

"I wanted to raise some money and I was sitting at work on night shift and thought I'd try and get cricket involved," he said.

"I sent some emails around to Cricket Victoria and by the morning I'd woken up and they'd donated a cricket bat."

Tickets will sell for $5 each and can be purchased at games or by visiting the Grenville Cricket Association Facebook page.

Walsh said the innitiative helped to put the league on the map.

"Chances are someone we will be effected by mental health or cancer during our lifetime. I think if we can hit the ground running now we can keep on growing," he said.
