Brayden Helyar, 19, has been recruited as a prospective key defender with more experience.
Helyar played 15 games with the Greater Western Victoria Rebels in 2018 before earning a place on the Geelong VFL development list.
He spent this year with Newtown and Chilwell in the Geeling league, managing eight senior appearances.
Helyar is a former Horsham Saints teammate of Lakers defender Josh Bibby.
He made his senior debut with the Saints in 2017.
The youngster joins other recruits such as Josh McDermott, Joe Mason and Lachlan Pfeifer (Beaufort) and Tim Collins (Dunnstown) secured by Lake Wendouree.
BACCHUS Marsh has announced the signing of midfielder/forward Jackson Kirley from Mansfield.
Kirley was a teammate of new coach Tom German at the Goulburn Valley league club.
On the flip side of the coin though, the Cobras have lost Matt Chisari (Avondale Heights) and Jakob de Winter, who played only eight games in the one season and is joining Triabunna in the Oatlands District association in Tasmania.
De Winter was a recruit from Western Magpies in the QAFL.
Chisari joined the Marsh with his brother Jacob in 2018 and put together 27 games as a small onballer.
Jacob Chisari retired late in the 2019 season after suffering a series of concussions.
