Andrew threw 12.75m to take out the state title for a 15th time - edging out Chad's all-time personal best by just 0.25m.
Sheaftossing doyen Leo Murphy said he could not remember a father and son finishing first and second in any championship in his 71 years in the sport.
The sheaftossing was a family affair all round with three of Murphy's grandsons placing first, second and third in the novice and open handicaps.

Novice handicap: Jacob White 11.5m, +1.25m 1; on countback from Chad Peterkin 12m, +.75m 2; Adam Murphy 10, +2.25m 3.
