Money raised will support the Dridan family in 12-year-old Blake's continued fight for health against blood disorder aplastic anaemia - the same disease as former St Kilda star Nick Riewoldt's sister Maddie.
Event organiser Chris Liston said the fundraiser had been planned well before confirmed job cuts in MaxiTRANS this week but many were keen to still get behind the movie.
"Times are tough everywhere but there's always someone doing it tougher. We just wanted to help out a 12-year-old boy," Mr Liston said.
"The company's been really supportive of Luke. This started as an idea for a boys' night out, with cool cars, and we made it into a way to help."
Ford v Ferrari is based on the true story of American car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and British-born driver Ken Miles to build a revolutionary race car for Ford to take on Ferrari 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.
There is a chance to win a Ford Mustang for a weekend from Eclipse Ford for those who book here online by Thursday at noon.
The special screening and night out is at ShowBiz Cinemas in Delacombe on Thursday, 5.30pm for a 6.30pm start.
