A shed fire broke out at Osborne Crescent, Miners Rest just before 9pm.
The shed, located between two houses and filled with tradesman's tools and LPG gas bottles, was fully involved when firefighters arrived.
It took about 20 minutes for five firefighting units to bring the blaze under control as neighbours lined the street after hearing the sounds of popping noises and disturbed by the commotion.
Police were also at the scene. Nobody was injured.
Fire investigators will travel to the location this morning.
Meanwhile, a shed fire also broke out at on Schreenans Road, Bonshaw just before 10.30pm. With flammable items also believed to be inside, firefighters were able to bring it under control in about 10 minutes.
