The Ballarat archer submitted a dominant performance at the Archery Australia (Open) National Championships earlier this month.
Forrest collected four gold medals and a silver at the event held in Gippsland.
Competing over four days, she won gold in the field, target and clout events, and set a new women's championship distance record at 70 metres.
She also led Victoria to a first-place finish in the combined teams event.
The performance saw her take home the Women's Compound Bow Overall Champion's Award - a special plaque given to the tournament's leading point-scorer.
"I was very happy with my performance," she told The Courier.
"I came into it knowing that I'd try my best and that I'd have a fair shot, but I didn't expect to win this many times.
"The conditions were terrible, it was rainy and windy, but I managed to focus on all my shots and execute them well."
The performance marked one of the best yet for the 16-year-old, who traveled to Spain earlier this year to compete at the Youth World Archery Championships.
She said the international experience motivated her to lift her performance in her archery endeavors back home.
"So far the biggest thing I've done is go to Spain for the youth world cup, but this event is right up there with my high-end comps," she said.
"For me, being on the state team was pretty special.
"It felt really nice helping Victoria get the win in the compound."
Forrest will now set her sights on Australian selection, in an attempt to compete at the Word Cup in Shanghai in 2020.
She has already shot the minimum qualifying score to be eligible for the team, but her selection will depend mainly on her performance at the National Matchplay Series, which will be held in Canberra on Australia Day weekend.
A top-three placing at the event would secure her ticket to Shanghai.
She also had plans to compete at the World Indoor Series in Sydney in January.
She had every confidence she could make the team.
"I think my odds are pretty high if I keep doing what I'm doing, she said.
"I've shot the qualifying scores and if I can stay on top of the ladder I could get picked to go.
"It's been my ultimate goal for the past three years."
