The wind has caused a large portion of a tree to come crashing down behind the Ballarat Train Station.
Emergency services were called to the incident at Coffee Lane Place in Ballarat Central just after 9.30am to reports of a fallen tree.
The tree, which stands upwards of 10 metres tall, has blocked access behind the lane and has been cordoned off by emergency services.
Ballarat has already experienced wind speeds upwards of 40 kilometres an hour.
