Luke Marko-Rawlings will take the reigns for the Lions heading into the 2020 Ballarat Football Netball League season.
He will replace former coach Adam Boldiston, who stepped down following the conclusion of the Lions' 2019 campaign.
The club took to Facebook to announce the appointment, saying Marko-Rawlings had a wealth of netball experience.
He will be supported by Kim Bailey, who has taken on the role of director of netball for 2020. She will also coach Sunbury's 19/under program.
Sunbury had another impressive season in 2019, finishing at the top of the competition table with 15 wins and only a single loss all season.
But it failed to advance to the decider after suffering a second straight preliminary final exit. Sunbury's season came to end in 2019 at the hands of eventual premiers North Ballarat.
