Paramedics were called to the Golf House Hotel in Ballarat North at 12.21am earlier this morning to reports a man in his 20s had been assaulted.
He sustained facial injuries and was transported to the Ballarat Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
It comes after an altercation at the Farmers Arms Hotel in Creswick last weekend, which resulted in the death of Creswick man David Blake.
