This is a chance to see the original Eureka Flag, sewn by Anastasia Withers, Anne Duke and Anastasia Hayes for free at the Eureka Centre. The flag was central to the Eureka Rebellion with leader Peter Lalor encouraging miners to swear their allegiance to the Southern Cross on Bakery Hill.
A commemorative service launched the 165th anniversary commemorations for the Eureka Stockade on the site where it all took place, now Eureka Stockade Memorial Park. The service honoured all involved in the event and the lives lost in the uprising.
Archaeologist Susan Lawrence will deliver the annual Peter Tobin oration on Tuesday evening. Professor Lawrence, a La Trobe University historian, has a keen interest in the environmental impact of the gold rush in shaping the state's landscape.
Eureka commemorations also included a service at Ballarat Old Cemetery.
There is also a service and walk with eye-witness accounts from St Paul's Anglican Church in the afternoon.
