Peter Wayne Snodgrass has admitted more than 200 charges, including filming patients with cameras hidden in a pen and an alarm clock, between 2012 and 2017.

His victims were aged between 11 and 60.

He has also admitted producing and downloading child exploitation material and filming some of his sexual partners without their permission.

As a serious repeat offender, Snodgrass is likely to receive a non-parole period equal to four-fifths of his head sentence.

In final submissions on Friday, Supreme Court Justice Anne Bampton said sentencing him would take longer than usual because of the large number of issues involved.

In a previous hearing, Justice Bampton criticised the 52-year-old's repeated reference to "boobs" in evidence as he tried to explain why he filmed clients.

She questioned if such terminology demonstrated remorse and said because he kept the footage to view later and had breached a position of trust, his case was more serious than the "peeping Tom scenario".

Defence counsel Joanna Fuller said her client could have used the word breasts but had tried to "openly and frankly" explain what he had done.

"His evidence was raw in that sense," she said.

Ms Fuller said her client's life had essentially fallen apart after his wife died and he had descended into offending as he fell into an addictive cycle of sexual gratification.

But a prosecutor argued the death of his wife did not mitigate Snodgrass' criminal conduct.

She said it was particularly concerning that he was willing to offend so broadly and in doing so had overstepped legal, ethical and moral constraints.

In his evidence, Snodgrass told the court his offending began when he took an image of a woman's bottom while massaging her.

He later bought a camera hidden inside a pen before replacing that with the clock which he set up in a change room area.

He said he would download the material to a computer hard drive and give each file a name, sometimes related to the physical appearance of his victims.
