The 23-year-old Froling will add international experience to the Selikirk Rush roster.
She represented Australia at under-17 and under-19 levels, and earlier this year helped Australia to a gold medal at the World University Games.
Froling also has extensive experience in the college system in the United States.
She played for Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, from 2014 until this year before returning to Australia and signing with the Bendigo Spirit in the WNBL.
She averaged 10.3 points, nine rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.8 blocks a game at SMU in NCAA division one.
Bendigo is her second WNBL club.
She was with her hometown team Townsville Fire from 2011, initially as a development player, until moving to the US.
Next year will be her first experience of NBL1.
Froling has a great basketball pedigree, coming from a family which has been heavily involved in the sport at the elite level.
Her parents played in the NBL and WNBL, while her twin sister Keely Froling has followed a similar career pathway, including attending SMU, and plays with Canberra Capitals in the WNBL.
Alicia Froling said she was excited with prospect of joining a new team, and playing in the new Ballarat Sports Events Centre.
"I'm looking forward to getting to Ballarat and being able to play in the brand new stadium with some great coaches," she said.
"I'm ready to compete against some of the best players in Australia and hopefully play for a championship," Froling said.
She knows Ballarat director of coaching Brendan Joyce well.
He coached her at the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence in 2014.
"I know he can help me take my game to another level," she said.
Joyce said Froling had had a great college career, breaking scoring and rebounding records.
He said she had also been an Australian junior with the potential to be a future Opal.
"Signing her also provides and strengthens the link of support for the women's Bendigo WNBL team."
Froling is the latest in a series of player signings for Ballarat.
Rush has already signed returning US import Chanise Jenkins, Kristy Rinaldi, Claire Constable and Taylah Wynne. A veteran of almost 300 games with Rush, Rinaldi is returning after not playing last season.
