Ute Root last gigged Ballarat in July. Since then they've released a martial arts, Warriors Come Out To Play, Kill Bill 1+2-inspired video and have been working hard on an album - so much so that the Ballarat gig is the only one they are playing recently, such is their love for the town..
Matt Stone of The Eastern says Friday's night's show will be one of the year's biggest, with Ute Root supported by K5, who are described as 'a new supergroup based out of Castlemaine featuring Kill Rock Star's Zeb Olsen (Matrimony), Nicole Tadpole (Triple R's 'Respect The Rock') and Julz, who works at your local library.'
"K5 are awesome; they're Nicole Tadpole's group so they'll be loud and we're really looking forward to them being here," he says.
"Ute Root and K5 are playing with Terrible Signal, who are fantastic. It's Vinny, who plays in another band, Hideous Sun Demon, they're playing here on Saturday night too. We thought we'd get both his bands up, he's one of our favourites for the year.
