Rudan and his men will take on Wellington Phoenix in the first ever A-League fixture for points in the city.
"It's super exciting. Obviously we played a couple of games (in Ballarat) in the pre-season against Adelaide United and Sydney FC, but this is the season proper now and three points are up for grabs," Rudan said.
"We are hoping that all the locals get out and support their team. We are a team for the west and we wouldn't have gone to Ballarat and played practice games in pre-season if we didn't think we could (get) a good supporter base.
"We are hoping that they come out and wear their green and black."
Rudan said it was important for the club to make Ballarat a fortress against its opponents.
After the battle with the Phoenix, United will take on Brisbane Roar on Sunday, February 16, Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday, March 29 and then Melbourne City on Friday, April 10 (Good Friday).
All games are at Mars Stadium.
"We want it to be a home and a home is when you've got a full attendance or as many people as possible," he said.
'It's a great opportunity for the local people of Ballarat to get more games in their area and it's only going to happen hopefully if they turn up.
"We know there is a huge football following there and we know we are their team."
Scott McDonald will be in the squad for Saturday's clash, while Panagiotis Kone will face a fitness test after he was injured in last Friday's game against the Western Sydney Wanderers.
Following a 1-1 draw with the Wanderers, Western United sits in third position on the A-League table, three spots ahead of Wellington Phoenix.
