Kay Hodgson established a new Facebook page Rebuild Upper Murray on Thursday to provide a platform for information on the impact of the fire and how people can help support recovery efforts.
Ms Hodgson was born in Corryong and has family members that were affected by the fires.
"I can't be there to help at the moment so I thought I could create this page as place where people can go to find out how they can help," she said.
Rebuild Upper Murray is promoting a Go Fund Me fundraiser to support Cudgewa and surrounding communities pay for generators, solar, food, building supplies, plumbing and electrical materials to support the recovery effort.
As of Thursday evening, the Go Fund Me page had raised almost $55,000.
Ms Hodgson said she was working to organise a fundraising event in Ballarat to support the recovery efforts.
She hopes to run a Strongman Competition on Australia Day and raise funds through participant entries and spectator ticket sales.
"The Ballarat community is very giving," she said.
"People will come on board if they know they can help in any way.
"We are Victorians and we are a community when it comes down to it, whether it be 5000km or 10km away."
The Green Valley fire has ripped through more than 110,000 hectares, through Cudwega and to the outskirts of Corryong.
Up to 15 homes have been destroyed in Cudgewa. That number is expected to rise as the damage continues to be assessed.
People in the area were told to leave on Thursday as conditions are expected to worsen in the coming days.
Convoys of cars left Corryong at designated times on Thursday afternoon.
Ms Hodgson is encouraging people to 'like' the Rebuild Upper Murray page on Facebook and consider helping how they can, whether it be through monetary donations or volunteering their time to help the recovery effort once it is safe and access to the towns is reopened.
