As fires consumed her retreat in what has become a national crisis, Tracey looked to help by what she could do best: coffee.
The Local sold almost $1000 worth of coffee on Saturday with every cent to go directly to bushfire disaster relief efforts.
Tracey was overwhelmed with the generosity of her customers, many also donating extra to a spare change jar. By closing time, Tracey was yet to tally the amount - she wants to keep this as a surprise for close on Sunday.
"Kangaroo Island is my one holiday for the year but I would have struggled to even get there with small towns along the way affected," Tracey said.
"You almost feel guilty thinking about taking a holiday so I thought, what could I do?"
Two men have died in the catastrophic blaze on King Island with media reports confirming by Saturday evening it was legendary Australian bush pilot Dick Lang and his son Clayton, a plastic surgeon.
Fires have scorched more than 150,000 hectares' land on Kangaroo Island.
Tracey said so many Australians, including so many Victorians, had been directly impacted by fire it was hard to know where or how to start helping. She hoped, a few coffees would make a difference.
