Matthew James Brebner pleaded guilty at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Monday to drink driving, driving while disqualified, careless driving, using false number plates and driving an unregistered vehicle.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Ben Jones told the court Brebner was driving through a roundabout at Raglan Street and Albert Street in Daylesford when he lost control and crashed through the front fence of a Vincent Street property at 2am on January 26.
Police from Bacchus Marsh attended the incident and took Brebner to the Bacchus Marsh Police Station for an evidentiary breath test.
The court heard Brebner's blood alcohol concentration was recorded at 0.165.
Senior Constable Jones said Brebner made full admissions to drinking spirits and beer, and crashing through the Vincent Street fence.
Magistrate Letizia Torres said Brebner had a 'terrible history' of drink driving.
A Ballarat defence lawyer said Brebner had a period of abstinence but had relapsed recently as a way to cope with ongoing anxiety and trauma.
"It is not just about the rehab, it is that he drives unlicenced and goes to the trouble to put false plates on an unregistered vehicle," Ms Torres said.
"There is quite a bit involved in this offending and it has been going on for years."
Brebner was sentenced to 10 days in jail and was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
"You have got to stop putting the community at risk," Ms Torres said.
