North Ballarat has a new first grade captain with Leigh Lorenzen deciding to relinquish the role for the second half of the 2018-19 campaign.
Lorenzen has cited increasing work commitments with his painting business behind the decision to stand aside, but expects to still be able to play throughout the rest of the season.
The young leader said he had been weighing up his ability to continue in the position for some time and had eventually made the call to stand down following the most recent game on December 21.
Following Lorenzen's decision, Mick Nolan will now take over as captain for the rest of the season.
Nolan is only relatively new to the club, having made the move from Ballan for the 2017-18 campaign.
The wicket-keeper/batsman will take charge for the first time this Saturday.
This weekend's Twenty20 clash - the third and last of the home and away rounds - is against Buninyong under lights at the Northern Oval.
Buninyong will also have a new skipper this Saturday with captain-coach Liam Brady currently on his honeymoon.
This means Liam Rigby will step up and take over the job he held last season.
Over at the Western Oval, Darley will look to continue its unbeaten record when it takes on Brown Hill.
The Lions have brought in Mitch Ward on the back of some good form, while the Bulls get back key bowler Ash Coxall from injury.
The clash of the round is the battle between top four sides Wendouree and Mt Clear.
And it will be an undermanned Red Caps side that takes on the Mounties with both Cole Roscholler and Sam Miller still on Victorian duties at the Australian Country Cricket Championships. Also missing this weekend will be Anthony Beacham.
Mt Clear, which has given former Red Caps player John Butler an A-grade call-up, is second on the table and Wendouree third. Both teams are just three points clear of the fifth-placed Golden Point.
The Pointies welcome back skipper Josh White from illness for their encounter against Napoleons-Sebastopol.
The other game on Saturday will be between Ballarat-Redan and East Ballarat in Alfredton.
Winners on Saturday will receive three points on the regular Ballarat Cricket Association ladder.
