One organisation driving the rebuilding effort is Blazeaid, who will look to help farmers get their stock back on their properties by replacing and rebuilding damaged and destroyed farm fencing.
A Blazeaid campsite has been erected at the Lexton Football Oval, which is playing host to volunteers from across the globe wanting to do their part in helping the rebuilding effort in the region.
Blazeaid Lexton camp coordinator Janis Hobbs told The Courier while there is a lot of work to be done, community support is helping push forward progress.
"Overall there is around 100 kilometres of farm fencing that needs to be replaced," she said.
"That process has started on Saturday with the removal of damaged fencing that is having to be removed... it's a lot of work, we anticipate it will take a number of months."
Along with the group of Blazeaid volunteers, the group has been joined by people looking to help however they can.
"The response we've received from not only the Lexton community but people all over has been fantastic," Ms Hobbs added.
"We've had so many people come through wanting to help... we've been contacted by people in Hawaii and England who have said they will come down for some time and give us whatever help they can."
As well as working to rebuild what was destroyed and damaged in Lexton, the camp is acting as the staging ground for resources being sent to assist those in Gippsland, with fully equipped trailers being built and stocked.
Ms Hobbs urged people who can help in any way, whether that be physically or financially, to contact Blazeaid to help those in need.
"Any contribution you can make will go a long way... whether you can come help with fencing on a day off or just make a financial donation, it will all help."
