Famous adventure park Kryal Castle is opening its doors to emergency service workers and their families for free as a thank you for their hard work this summer.

Across the weekend of Feburary 8 and 9, the castle will provide free entry to members of the Country Fire Authority, Melbourne Fire Brigade, Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, State Emergency Service, Police, Ambulance Victoria or Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority, and their immediate families.
Kryal Castle general manager Melissa Dimond said the free weekend is the castle's way of giving back to those that have sacrificed so much time and energy over the past few months.
"We started thinking about what we could do to give a little back to the people who have dedicated so much time to protecting the state," she said.
We wanted to allow these people to come with their families and enjoy some family time they might have lost over the holiday period.

Mrs Dimond is well aware of the danger bushfires can bring, with the castle coming under fire in 2013 after lighting started a blaze which came within meters of the attraction.
"We've been in the thick of it before.... We're well aware of the amazing work our firies do."
The castle's new dragons, which were debuted over the school holidays, will be out in full force across the February weekend, although Mrs Dimond eased concerns some firefighters may have had with the creatures.
"We promise the dragons will be on their best behaviour... no fire breathing will be taking place," she laughed.
