The City of Ballarat has confirmed this morning that the two pools at Eureka have been closed for cleaning, however the playground area remains open.
All other pools across Ballarat will remain open.
In a statement, the City of Ballarat said; "Following last night's dust storm, The Eureka Pool will be closed today while City of Ballarat clean the pools. At this stage, we are hoping the pool will return back to normal open hours tomorrow."
The City of Ballarat also said the Ballarat Aquatic Lifestyle Centre Facebook page will have the best updates to see if the pool opens earlier then expected.
It's been a crazy summer across much of Victoria, with bushfires coming close to threatening homes near Kingston overnight, while on Sunday night more than 200mm of rain fell in two hours in an isolated pocket near Burrumbeet.
A further 22mm fell overnight in the Ballarat catchment, with this month well and truly exceeding the monthly average of 39mm.
The cool change which brought the dust and rain has seen temperatures plummet into the low teens this morning.
The good news is the Australia Day long weekend looks perfect with sunny tops of 24, 26 and 29 expected over the weekend.
