It's a big thrill for McKew, who has been involved in the Vic Country program for three years. He said he was excited to help nurture the game's top talent.

"They are young, they've got a lot to learn but they are really hard workers," he said.

"Being from the country they often don't get the same opportunities and I love working with those type of athletes."
