On Sunday, Ballarat Highway Patrol members were conducting a random drug and alcohol test when they were alerted a car which had driven past the site.
The car was found in Joseph Street, with a 38-year-old woman behind the wheel. On inspection, it was discovered that the woman was unlicensed. The car was impounded for 30 days and the woman will need to pay $1425 to have it removed, followed by a visit to the Magistrates Court to answer charged.
Police have also taken two motorbikes off the road over the weekend. In one case, a 24-year-old man was discovered riding an unregistered bike in Delacombe at 7pm on Sunday. The man was found to be also unlicensed and also tested positive to having drugs in his system.
He was also found to have two outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court.
A second bike was taken off the road at 11.30pm on January 25 when a 31-year-old was caught driving on Mair Street. The 31-year-old will appear in court at a later date for unlicensed driving and other charges.
Both men had their bikes impounded for 30 days and will cost more than $1200 to get them back.
