In a battle between the premier division's bottom sides, the hosts prevailed in a close encounter by three shots.
It was Rose Marshall's rink that was behind the Daylesford success, with her team prevailing by 21 shots. It proved the only rink win as Clunes claimed narrow victories elsewhere on the green.
The 74-71 triumph was Daylesford's third of the Ballarat District Bowls Division Monday Pennant season and first since way back in round four, but wasn't enough to lift the side off the bottom of the ladder. The team remains nine points behind Clunes, which is second last.
Elsewhere in round 14, the top four sides in the competition all had wins.
Ladder leaders Ballarat Memorial Sports beat Midlands Golf by four shots, while second-placed Buninyong defeated Avenue by 16.
The pair has a handy gap on third-placed City Oval and fourth-placed Central Wendouree.
The Hawks were too strong for Sebastopol on Monday while the Bears got home against Creswick.
Midlands has now slipped 13 points adrift of the finals bracket.
Just four home and away rounds remain until finals kick off on Monday, March 2.
