A number of businesses across the region have experienced issues with their mobile service throughout Wednesday, which has seen some Eftpos machines go down.
When contacted by The Courier, which has experienced it's own mobile network issues today, A Telstra spokesman follow-up works on the new 5G network were being completed.
'"Now that we've switched on 5G in parts of Ballarat our customers using compatible devices are experiencing faster speeds and better capacity. It's also improved capacity on the mobile network for our 4G customers as well," the spokesman said.
"We're doing some follow-up work on some of our network sites around central and northern Ballarat and our customers may notice some impact to their mobile service during this time.
"We know there's never a perfect time to do additional work but once we're finished it'll mean an even better mobile experience for our customers."
Telstra could not give a time on how long the service will experience some outages.
