Parks Victoria will commence the construction of new visitor access trails and a viewing area at the 'Blowhole' in Hepburn Regional Park in February.
The site was closed to the public in September 2016 after flooding caused parts of the rock cliffs to collapse next to the walking track and damaged the foundations of the viewing platform.
The Blowhole is a unique historical remnant of Victoria's gold rush days and a popular visitor attraction located on the Goldfields Track.
It was created when miners cut through shale rock cliffs.
The old gold-miner's tunnel produces an impressive spout of water when the Sailors Creek water level is high.
Parks Victoria Area Chief Ranger Siobhan Rogan said she was excited to begin construction after a 'significant period' of assessment and planning on the tricky terrain.
"I appreciate the community's patience during this time and look forward to seeing people again enjoying this wonderful part of the Hepburn Regional Park," she said.
The $250,000 construction works to the Blowhole are expected to take around three months to complete, dependent on weather and site conditions.
Closures at the site will remain in place until completion.

Park Rangers held an information session at the Blowhole to provide the local community with an update on the planned works in December.
Parks Victoria has indicated some noise from the works may be audible to nearby residents at times.
Daylesford Macedon Tourism chief executive Steve Wroe said the re-opening of the Blowhole would contribute to the region's nature-based tourism offerings.
"Continued enhancement of the exceptional range of nature-based tourism assets in the region is key to our strategic approach to tourism," he said.
"Our region is known as a destination that enhances your well-being and immersion in nature is key to this."
