The club has signed American forward Alisia Jenkins as its second import for the 2020 NBL1 South season.
She is the younger cousin of Chanise Jenkins, who is also back with the Rush after winning the club's most valuable player award in 2019.
"I'm so excited to be part of the Selkirk Ballarat Rush this season playing in the NBL1 South" Alisia said.
"I've heard so many great things about the community and heard the fans energy and atmosphere is electrifying."
Alisia is no stranger the area, having played for the Werribee Devils in the Big V championship women competition in 2019.
She was dominant for the Devils, averaging 23 points a game to help lead the club to a championship last season.
"I personally hope I can bring a competitor edge to Ballarat and I hope that I can help lead this team into playoffs," she said.
Alisia will bring size and versatility to the Rush, which was at times lacking last year as it failed to make the postseason.
Ballarat Basketball director of coaching Brendan Joyce said the pairing of Alisia and Alicia Froling would be something for opposition teams to deal with.
He said her ability to generate offence from minimal touches make her an ideal fit next to her ball-handling cousin.
"There is only one basketball and that's why it's important that you don't have too many players that need the ball," he said.
Rush head coach Eric Hayes said he was looking forward to having Alisia Jenkins join the team for the upcoming season.
"Alisia is a super athlete that is a relentless rebounder, she runs the floor like a guard and she is fantastic at finishing around the basket," he said.
"She will be a great piece for our team this season as she is can play many position on offence and guard many positions on defence."
