The team had been 20 points behind the fourth-placed Central Wendouree before the round 16 clash against the Bears, but produced a dominant display to trim the gap with two home and away games remaining.
Midlands Golf took 14 points from the fixture and now trail Central Wendouree by just eight.
Elsewhere on Monday, City Oval was able to get the better of top side Ballarat Memorial Sports in Alfredton.
The Hawks won just one rink for the day - skippered by Wayne Roberts - but still managed a 10-shot success.
BMS remains clear at the summit, but second-placed Buninyong has cut the margin to 11 points after its win over Daylesford.
Daylesford pushed the visitors, but eventually lost 61-58.
Creswick produced the most emphatic triumph of round 16 with a 52-shot thrashing of Avenue, while the day's other victor was Clunes, which was far too good for Sebastopol.
