United player Aaron Calver and the club's director of football and former Socceroo Steve Horvat were in town on Tuesday to present Bogers with a club jersey.
It came just hours before the second staging of the charity match between NPL3 side Ballarat City and the Ballarat and District Soccer Association All Stars, known as the Herman Bogers Cup.
Bogers, the current president of the BDSA, said he was "tickled pink" to receive the United top.
"It's very exciting, especially from Western United which have put so much back into the local community," Bogers said.
"They are really working with the locals to try have a presence and we fully support them."
Western United will take on Brisbane Roar on Sunday in the second ever A-League match at Mars Stadium.
