With countless organisations putting their hand up to do their part, the Ballarat Beer Festival is proud to showcase some Victorian beer which will produce much needed funds for relief with every can and glass sold.
Hawkers Beer will debut Heroes Gold, a new beer which the company will donate money for each keg and can sold.
Ballarat Beer Festival organiser Ric Dexter shared his excitement with The Courier about the initiative.
"$180 from each keg sold is going towards a bushfire assistance fund, along with around $1 per can sold... It's a great initiative to go along with a great beer," he said.
Mr Dexter added he believes the festival, which is now going into its ninth year, plays an important role in showcasing small brewers.
"It's really important to allow small brewers to showcase their product. They don't have huge distribution channels like some larger breweries so to have a festival in Ballarat which draws a lot of people in is really important."
The Ballarat Beer Festival will take place on Saturday at the North Gardens from 11.30am.
