Berisha, who is the competition's all time goal-scorer, put the dagger in his former club during Brisbane's loss to United in round 10.
It settled an affair which saw Roar dominate for much of the contest, but fail to capitalise on the scoreboard.
Emotions spilled over after the match, with Western United coach Mark Rudan claiming he had been "disrespected" by Roar coach Robbie Fowler for not shaking hands.
Hingert said his club was not about to let history repeat itself at Mars Stadium.
"We know Berisha has been around for a few years and we know what he's capable of, and you can never take your eyes off him for long because he can score goals," he said.
"But we are more focused on ourselves and if we play the way we know we can, we won't worry about individual players."
The round 10 loss marked a turning point in the season for Brisbane, which have only lost one game since.
Hingert said there was a real buzz around the club, which has risen to third spot on the competition ladder.
"We've had a good six weeks in terms of performances. Everyone in the camp is very happy and we are feeling confident in every game we go into," he said.
"Early on there were games where we were playing well but didn't get the results. But I think it's been our desperation and determination that's changed it for us."
Brisbane will enter Sunday's match as favorites against United, which have fallen to sixth on the ladder after a hot start to the year.
Hingert said the clubs have a similar game style in terms of structure and formation and the result would come down to which side executes.
"We're just focusing on ourselves," he said.
"There is no team in the league that we fear right now."
