More than 30 children travelled to Camp Wuyna in Queenscliff as part of the annual Cops n' Kids camp.

Cops n' Kids founder John Moloney said the camp provided an opportunity for the children to enjoy a break and talk to other children in similar circumstances.

"I am looking forward to seeing the smiles and delight of the kids enjoying the new experiences they will have," he said.

"It is a joy watching them go through the weekend where each minute changes into something nice for them."

Program highlights include boat trips with the water police, helicopter rides and a visit to the Geelong Adventure Park.

Children on the weekend camp range from eight to 14-years-old. Many have been on a Cops n' Kids camp before while there are some new to the experience.

A second camp is held in Ballarat in November for children with cancer of life-threatening illnesses from around the state.

Around 60 children attended the camp last November.

Both the November and February camps rely on donations, the support of the community and businesses involved.

"We can never express our gratitude enough to the community and the organisations and businesses that support us every year to allow these great adventures for the children to happen," Mr Moloney said.

"From the bottom of my heart we really do appreciate it."
