Alfredton's Lyn Hedger and her daughter Clare, from Melbourne, are now at the Howard Springs quarantine camp with more than 160 others evacuated from the ship.
It is expected they will remain at the camp until March 5. Neither have shown any signs of illness.
Clare said the room she and her mother were staying in was akin to a "low security jail" but the bed was comfortable, with an ensuite and they unlimited access to fresh air, albeit while wearing a mask. "We've probably got an area of about 200m by 100m, but we're still asked to stay at least two metres away from other passengers, but we do have unlimited air now," she said.
Seven new cases have now been confirmed among the group of 164 after passengers left the coronavirus-torn ship.
Ms Hedger said the flight over had been unusual as it contained just four flight crew while the rest were health officials.
"Everyone was wearing a mask, there were biohazard bags everywhere and there were signs from WHO (World Health Organisation) everywhere about cleanliness," she said.
Health authorities say the coronavirus has been contained within the general Australian population and the latest cases posed no risk to the Darwin community as strict public health measures remain in place.
There have been 23 confirmed cases in Australia, including 10 people who have recovered from the illness.
Some Year 11 and 12 students outside the Hubei province enrolled in Australian schools will be able to apply to get back into the country as long as they are not unwell.
The process to return to Australia comprises of 13 steps, with states and territories to have the final say on whether to let students return.
A similar relaxation of travel restrictions will be considered for university students this week, but no decision has been finalised.
